Some torrents shoe 0 seeds and 0 peers. How can ya get them started up? For instance, 10/27/79 Cape Cod is sitting at BtEtree in that state. Where to post requests for such???

Hey now, I'm now setting there myself at bt.etree (the utorrent 1.5) at >>

http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=22376&dllist=1#seeders

Waiting for a seeder, yesterday I emailed the "uploaded by" -woozler32,
but the email bounced back as undeliverable. To sum it up, I grovel for seeders. Btw, can anyone here seed that show-GD 10/27/79 - bt.etree i hear SO much about??

I'm going to seed this for you. (The whole show, not just the fix.)

Probably not until tomorrow.

A good place to start leaning about bittorrent is http://wiki.etree.org/index.php?page=BitTorrent (somewhat outdated) but there are plenty of links to FAQs about downloading shows.

Help On The Way.
I've got to set up a torrent program - the one suggested by bt.etree brought up errors. I think that I've got utorrent on my 'puter - let me try that. I've not much experience with uploading, but I've got the show all qued up and ready to go.

now that's one thing I know nothing about, actually uploading a show to a torrent site-if it was at 0-seeders 0-leeches. Maybe lehighvet88 can re-seed that highly touted show??

Not to sound like an ass, but have you read the FAQ's of uploading? I have not done it before myself, but I believe there is info on how to on archive and bt.etree. etree also has a tech forum where someone with experience (not me) could give you real guidance.

I think I have it, I'll check. I don't know how to seed. I was thinking just yesterday that I wanted to seed some of my shows.

Let me know how and I'll do it. I'll even B&P.

selfish question here: when you leave a torrent open for seeding, how does it affect your ( my ) thruput? My computer is not very fast. It's bad enough to have to wait 3-4 days for one show to DL. I don't think I can afford to have it be slower iykwim.

I have a pretty decent computer and dsl, but I see things starting to slow down when I have 2 or 3 torrents downloading at once and my daughter has he IM up and she's tring to look for something on the internet. Without all the other stuff going on, it shouldn't have too much of an impact on your thru put. You can always hit finish or end to close the torrent, and if the show is saved on your hard drive you can always "reseed' or reopen the torrent by going back to bt.etree for instance and click on the torrent you saved. It should find it on the hard drive and start seeding again. Once its deleted from the hard drive its done and can't be reopened/seeded without downloading it again. Thats why I'm guessing most people who are heavily involved in seeding and uploading new shows have those 250 gig drives that can store 200+ shows at once. I have to download and eventually dlete them as I do not have that much drive space available.

gotta get yourself one of the external hardrives. that where is store all my shows. LaCie sells real cool "brick" drives pretty cheap and they are stackable. Well worth the money if you don't want to worry about your discs gettin damaged after deleting the show.

Its tempting, but I listen to 90% of my Dead in the car,so the discs work fine for me. Had a great run thru NE last week- Manchester nh, Westport,MA Oneonta, Ny and Littleton, NH. Had a nice drive on 90west to Albany- great foliage, nice tunes, good smoke, good friends and solo too.

im the same - about 90% in car only. i just got the external so that if i lose or damage the disc, i have the copy on that hardrive and it doesn't take up space on my pc. just a personal preference - was worth the 100 bucks to me.
Glad you had a great road trip!! Foliage is great, although i haven't got out too far to see too much. Glad you had a safe journey and enjoyable time. Sounds like it was a blast. Route 90 must have been beautiful right about now. (im jealous)

peace

0 seeds and 0 peers is common for older shows and very difficult, if not impossible to resolve.Sometimes I leave a show like that open for days as the files trickle in. Best bet is bite the bullet and move on to show with seeds. Have you looked for the show on gdlive or shnflac.net or other sites? If you really need a show thats not downloading, just ask for a copy here and someone will probably take care of you.

Yeah, I read the FAQ, downloaded two torrent programs, etc. Still can't get my brain around it. Anyone who wants can send B&P. I've got both aud and sbd of that particular show - even next night sbd. My email is above. More than happy to get this great show to those in need.
